THE SOUL OF THE FIRE by ArwenArts THE SOUL OF THE FIRE by ArwenArts
Finally, the second work of my self-formation is achieved. The Soul of the Fire created by Keith Parkinson, illustrator for the opus 1 to 7 of the Sword of the Truth by Terry Goodkind.

This one is a free adaptation. I painted the waterfall and the ray of light. Tree, rocks, sky, fog, clouds and birds are from my personal gallery photographies. Lady shadow: Illustrator of mines.

I wish you will can tell me your mind, please, comment and do not hesitate to critic, at this moment, it is very important for me. The goal is to work on the lights to create space.

Thank you...

It is strange for me to go back on my old works, not so old, one year,
because I really feel very far of this...

Haha, yeah, it's kinda odd to be reminded of ones old works, isn't it? :giggle: But the manip's really cool. And maybe one day you'll feel the drive to take up on this kind of art again. :)

You're most welcome. :aww: Look forward to investigate your whole gallery as soon as have time.

Indeed. :aww:
And, well, it's my pleasure! Your art is so amazing. The colours are so soft, and through the focus you set, the pictures become real special and somewhat dreamy. So, yeah, it really is my pleasure!

Oops... somehow got you mixed up with someone else. XD Disregard my last comment.

It does remind me of a Maxfield Parrish painting, and that IS a good thing. I love him, he was a fantastic artist. For this piece, I know what you were trying to do with the waterfall on the far right, but to me it seems out of place. I'd almost like to see the background mirrored so that the ship is on that side and take the waterfall and its cliffs out. That way it would still be balanced visually, but there would be no distracting and out-of-place bit.

Of course, that's only my thoughts on it and you can do as you like. XD

The rest of this piece is just stunning. The colors work surprisingly well. And I love the darkness of the foreground. It was brave of you to attempt something like this, where usually the foreground is in focus and a character placed in it is looking off into a hazy distance. To have the character cloaked in shadows and the setting only hinted at with the ship and water and the land in the distance as the focal of this, it is very well done and very successful. Nice job. :)

Thank you again, I really appreciate your comment, it means a lot for me, and your thoughts are also good than others. The most important is your kind to appreciate or not details and composition! Thank you again, really! :boogie:

I will never again critique you.

But I will say, the foreground and the way you've treated it reminds me of a Maxfield Parrish painting. And that is a good thing.
